OLUŞUM ARTHOUSE- ANKARA
8 SEPTEMBER- 5 OCTOBER 1989
I am not trying to mirror your hell.
We are extremely accustomed to the mirrors…
In front of the mirrors, as well, our hell manages to reproduce itself.
Now, it is essential to reveal all the foils in the mirrors and to turn them into windows.
I am not trying to lead you to believe anything so that the hell is not taken for granted.
I think that the “questions” we ask “from inside of” the life that we take for granted while living everyday will distance us from “our tomorrow”.
I do not want to repeat the lie of a reality without utopia for you with the visual images resembling to simple answers given to simple questions.
The mirror does not transform.
Even so, everybody finds enough strength to look in the mirror every day.
I do not want anybody to leave this exhibition by saying, “He, the rascal, addressed the issue well!”
I prefer the “issue” to wander around our back/inside us in the form of creeps.
Although we see the days when the “miracles will come into daily life” far away with a “realistic” perspective, I want to “dust” our part which has given up believing in miracles.
