“ANIMAL SYMBOLICUM”
4 – 14 SEPTEMBER 2013
The world/life that the humankind makes for himself is “synthetic”.
The information that the humankind produces is symbolic in terms of its chemistry. A little “down” the symbol, the world of symbols appears and from there, it is possible to pass to the world of symbols.
Scientific, artistic information walks up to the symbols over the signs; the thought proceeds in the abstract world of the symbols.
“Animal Symbolicum” is a concept coined by Ernst Cassirer; it points out to human being as the “animal/living being that symbolises” and it has become subject to objections and debates in the academic world.
I want to point out to that: My contact with “Animal Symbolicum” is within the inquiry framework of “art”, outside the literary language which itself is the field of symbols; a perspective to the semantic world of the humankind and to how it is created.
